Seine Fishing on the Beaches of Nags Head

In 2018 I started photographing the crew of Griffin Fisheries as they put out a net with a small dory and later pulled in the haul using their pickups. The catch was an amazing sampling of the marine life near shore. The project continued for seven summers as the fishermen carried on a local tradition with a modern twist. These photographs are not included in the book “Muggin’ Them Butters”, available for pre-order now, but are some of my favorites.
